Epiphany is a play development tool meant to celebrate a given community and engage audiences. The process invites 8 to 12 people from the public to submit personal stories depicting a moment of change in their lives. Under the direction of Nadia Ross, the group puts their stories into Epiphany’s pre-existing structure, then invites the public and shares their stories in an intimate exchange that celebrates surprising moments of insight.
This project aims to isolate and explore a central element of the dramatic structure: the moment of change or turning point. As a means to explore an essential aspect of most theatre, this project and its accompanying process is the simplest and most straightforward means we have found to get to the heart of the theatrical medium.
